MessageAngel
What Is MessageAngel?
MessageAngel is a software product that allows sms and email
reminder messages to be delivered to mobile phones, PDAs and computers.
MessageAngel is a new and unique way of communicating with
your customers, clients and staff at a time and in a way that’s right for them.
Using the best of new technology, it’s an efficient, simple
to use means of communicating based on simple or complex schedule, diary or
appointment based activities or events.
It gives even the most computer shy users the ability to plan and deploy
otherwise complicated appointments, reminders or other customer service
communications.
The benefits of this new system are clear.
With fewer appointments missed, efficiency
improves and time and money are saved.
It has been estimated that missed appointments within the
NHS alone costs hundreds of millions of pounds.
Using a text message reminder service, an organization can
noticeably reduce non-attendance and enhance overall communications with
clients.
Add to this the cost and time savings over traditional
contact methods and the ability to schedule events days, weeks, months and even
years in advance and you have the next step in customer relationship
management: a very real way of saving money and enhancing customer service
through efficient use of technology.
How does MessageAngel work?
Once you organisation has installed MessageAngel you will be
able to create messages, add contacts and then schedule events to generate
messages. Or these tasks may be
integrated with your own diary, appointment, CRM or other applications for the
purpose of automating contact creation and message scheduling. Messages can be made generic to allow the
system to substitute personalised values such as dates, names, account balances
into the message at creation time.

Digital Library
Business Intelligence,
Intelligent Business
A large wealth of the knowledge in your organisation is
contained in unstructured and semi-structured documents stored throughout your
computer networks.
Unfortunately, this valuable knowledge is difficult or
impossible to locate. Typically:
- documents
are stored across multiple servers and on individual desktop computers
- huge numbers of documents are created
but no distinction is made between those that will serve future value and
those that will not
- users
can never find the documents that they know exists on the network
somewhere!
- Valuable
document resources are available on the network but those who could
benefit from them are unaware of their existence
- Users
rely on their own naming conventions or directory structures to make sense
of their documents, but this is not flexible enough for the organisation
as a whole
The cost of this
- Missed
opportunities
- Increased
cost of knowledge acquisition and communication
- Frustration
- Lower
quality
- Lack
of control and increased risk of poor decision making
A digital library:
- Assists
in the organisation and storage of your electronic documents (e.g. Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) on your computer network.
- Provides
for easy retrieval of the documents you require for any work tasks
- Can
be integrated with your business processes software (such as workflow, CRM
and standard software packages) to ensure that the right documents are delivered
to users at the right time.
Digital library software
- reduces
the cost associated with trying to find the right documents when you need
them.
- improves
knowledge use by providing access to valuable content otherwise “lost” in
the network.
The subject of library science is a well established subject
within traditional libraries. They offer the benefits of solid organisation and
librarians, who are trained to support our information and knowledge requests.
Librarians are experts in eliciting our requirements and locating the library
resources most suitable to our needs.
In the world of our computer servers and the documents
stored on them, the story is quite different. It is very common in even
reasonably small organisations for users to re-invent content because the
documents already available cannot be found or users are overloaded with too
many documents.
At best, each user has their own way of classifying
documents based on Windows folder structures and file names. The Windows directory
service is not particularly helpful for content organisation. In fact, the
manner in which documents are physically structured on a computer filing system
has little relevance to the various ways in which your users need to retrieve
or search for content.
What has happened to the various simple cataloguing
mechanisms found in our traditional libraries? Our digital library software
offers simple author, subject and title cataloguing. But being digital, we can
offer new cataloguing opportunities. The digital library software goes some way
toward filling the gap left by the absence of a librarian. We can provide more
powerful relationships and cataloguing features to your content that will make
retrieving and working with the content on your systems fit the way you do your
business. For example, retrieving documents of a particular type (proposals,
say) relating to the clients of a particular salesman, project type and products
used.
It is, therefore, a significant feature of the digital
library system that it can be configured to support the various uses within
your organisation. The application has been designed to integrate with your
core applications, such as work flow, CRM, call centre, information portal,
website or intranet, therefore providing a seamless document retrieval service that
aligns with your business processes.
Management Reporting
Business Intelligence,
Intelligent Business
The problem is widespread: Managers need information to
guide their decision making, but:
- Standard
reports are too inflexible
- Standard
reporting features allow very little user control and real-time dialogue
- The
information required is contained in a number of different source
applications.
- The
source data isn’t always very clean and is often inconsistent between
source applications
- The
source applications do not store data in a form suitable for interrogative
enquiry and they often purse data too frequently to enable adequate trend
analysis
- The
source application files are not designed to cope with large volumes of
aggregated data and heavy duty queries both required by management
reporting
Our solution to the management reporting problem is the
Microsoft Analysis Services product and related products. Analysis Services is
an affordable way to tackle the problem of performance indicator based
management reporting.
What an Analysis Services solution will give you:
- Multi-dimensional
analysis. Managers typically view their business from a number of
different dimensions. They see sales and profits by product grouping
hierarchies, stores, salesman, customer demographics and so on. Analysis
Services enables you to dynamically view data across dimensions as well as
drilling through the various hierarchies contained within them.
- Aggregated.
Traditional management reports have to run in batch mode because they
access huge volumes of data. But Analysis Services pre-aggregates the
reporting measures to enable real-time on-line access to trend and summary
information.
Collected. Traditional reporting applications
typically focus on a particular application. Each application has its own
reporting system. But management normally require reporting that collects
information from a number of different applications and data sources. In using
Analysis Services, data is collected and collated from all required sources.
This enables the management of reporting data to be undertaken in a single
place.
